Mrs. C. C Nwafor, the virtuous woman, the ideal widow, epitome of motherhood, the resilient, faithful mother and great teacher. I did not know that staying together with you on your 70th birthday was the last I would be with you one-on- one. You were so charming, vibrant, eloquent on that day only but for serious cough which disturbed you. Few days later I called to ask how you were fairing but you did not pick my call. I sent messages but no reply. After a long time you responded and told me how you were flown back to United States of America a day after your birthday ceremony due to the cough. I tanked God for granting you recovery.
After a while was another period of long silence from you. In June 2025, I a friend to your family Mr. Onyenwe who gave me the phone number of your son Obum. I felt relieved but my hope was dashed when Obum could not respond to my message.
In the morning of April 13, 2026, my hope to speak with you was reawakened when I charted him up, and he called. It was that day that he narrated to me what you were passing through. With faith, I told him you will not die having remembered God’s promise in Isaiah 65 vs 20 and assured him of my prayers for you.
It was a great shock to me when I got the message that you passed on eight days after I spoke with Obum. The scripture tells us that in every situation we should give glory to God for all His handiwork are good. I have no option than to accept God’s will on you. I pray that in His infinite mercy God will not forget that you made His house your second home when you were on earth especially at St Michael’s Ifite Awka. I know you carried that faith to United States of America, UK, and …
My faith tells me that when you could nolonger visit God in His place of worship, could nolonger turn the scriptures every day, proclaim the word due to failed health, God in turn was coming to your sick bed to see His daughter. I believe God was with you all through and therefore the devil had no chance of separating you for God’s love. I believe He has a better place for you where there is no more sickness, no pain, no hunger, no worries…

Based on that premise till we meet to part no more I say;
Adieu my dear friend!, Adieu Mrs Nwafor C. C.!,
Adieu the virtuous woman!
