It is with a heart full of grief that I write this tribute to my beloved second mother, Late Mrs. Caroline Nwafor.
Late Mrs. Caroline Nwafor was truly a woman of substance, richly endowed with wisdom, intelligence, and admirable virtues. She used her God-given gifts with great purpose, touching lives and accomplishing many noble things.
One of her greatest qualities was her genuine concern for the well-being of others through her wise counsel. I vividly remember my youthful years when she would often call me aside to offer sincere, thoughtful, and invaluable advice. Those words of wisdom became deeply engraved in my heart and have remained a guiding light from my youth into adulthood.
Her love and care were truly motherly. Having lost my biological mother at a tender age, I was left with a void that seemed impossible to fill. Yet, through God’s grace, Mrs. Caroline Nwafor became that motherly figure in my life, especially during my formative years when I needed guidance, encouragement, and affection the most. Because of the special place she occupied in my life, I always referred to her as my second mother.
She was also a woman of peace, humility, and reconciliation. I vividly recall visiting her sometime in 2021, unaware that it would be our final meeting on this side of eternity. During that visit, we spent quality time together, openly discussed and parted with joy and peace in our hearts. Looking back today, I am deeply grateful for that precious moment, which has become one of my most treasured memories.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her memories remain evergreen in my heart. The impact of her love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
While we mourn her departure, we do not grieve without hope. By God’s grace, I look forward to meeting her again at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, where there will be no more pain, sorrow, or separation.
May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
